JANE'S ADDICTION Going Electronic On New CD

The forthcoming JANE'S ADDICTION album, "Hypersonic", will feature a musical direction that has been influenced in part by vocalist Perry Farrell's passion for electronic music.

"I love to listen to and play electronic music but rock n' roll doesn't always go with electronic music," Farrell told Australia's Beat magazine. "It can if you have a clever man like ['Hypersonic' producer] Bob Ezrin [KISS, PINK FLOYD, LOU REED] around to make it so. So there's a certain degree of it on the record but it's not so much that you would miss it if it wasn't there. That's too much, you know? Most of it is heart felt live playing and then there's little sprinkles of electronics sub stuff and when the dreamy parts happen there's room for it. He and I, we all do like to sprinkle things around so there's a little bit of at least everything good.

As previously reported, JANE'S ADDICTION recently parted ways with Warner Bros. Records and are close to inking a new deal with a West Coast-based major label.

"Hypersonic", tentatively set for an early summer release, is the band's first proper studio set since 1990's "Ritual de lo Habitual". It was produced by Ezrin at Henson Recording (formerly known as A&M Studios) in Los Angeles.
